A Note About Agility Training

Dream Dogs uses only positive training techniques, including operant conditioning through a conditioned re-enforcer (the clicker). Compulsion is not used; a dog is never asked to perform an obstacle or training sequence that it's not ready or willing to attempt.

Agility- Puppy

Prerequisites: Current and on Vaccinations

Age: 4 months to 11 months

Agility is a great way to build your puppy's confidence! Some obstacles can be very scary for puppies. We will work with them on their level, to accept new adventures. Agility is an excellent way for puppies to build confidence, bond with their owners, and learn coordindation skills. We will work on target training, games, clicker training, and moving on some of the equipment safely. All puppy agility equipment is the same as regular equipment but, much smaller to cater to the growing pup. This is a very exciting class for you and your puppy. An exceptional class for shy puppies!

Basic Agility

Prerequisites: Current and on Vaccinations

Age: 1 year and over

Foundation work from the right and left side, targeting, contact equipment, tunnels, and table all done with clicker training!

Intermediate Agility

Prerequisites: Basic Agility

Age: 1 year and over

Dogs should have been introduced to all contact equipment and are comfortable with most of them, though not necessarily at full height. Teeter may still need assistance and weave poles will be introduced . Dogs should be able to stay with the handler for short sequences off leash. This class will develop equipment fluency (dogs), handling and teamwork "building block" skills and work on longer sequences.
